Hello. I just got your unity engine. I was planning on learning your system with some of the free tutorial assets you have available.
I found you post on how to fix this

    5. Asset Store is offline Some users reported this issue while using the Asset Store although the Internet connection was not dropped.

    How to fix it :

    • press the Start button in Windows and search for "configure proxy server"
    • go to LAN settings
    • unchecked the box next to Proxy Server

HOWEVER either it could be windows 8 or maybe something else, but following this to the best of my ability (I went to the same place, and flicked a swich, not unchecked a box). It still doesn't work and I cannot use your assets.

Suggestion: Make your things DOWNLOADABLE especially things you charge money for. Or, and here's a thought, give us an option, maybe a button "Go online" Or even this, maybe don't force Unity to be online and have an archaic and impossible way to "Go online" even though I clearly am currently online, signed in and stuff... unless what I'm doing right now is pure magic.

I got sent a note saying to 1: turn off proxy settings or 2: Check my firewall.

I have since turned off proxy settings (it should never have been on) and gave permission to my fire wall.
I'm still not allowed to use Unity assets. "You are currently offline"

Please put in a "Log in" option in the tool itself or something.

I'm having this same problem with Windows 7. And no one seems to be responding with any help besides the aforementioned 'Proxy Settings' and 'Checking the firewall'.

Lets bring this back up. There's a new unity beta it seems. Did you guys fix this issue in that?

Hello, support. I would like to get a free asset that promises to only be free for a limited time. IS there any way I can get this? https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/11919
I'm still having the "You are not online" issue, and there seems to be no progress at all.

I spoke too soon. Whatever was fixed yesterday for no reason and no changes at all on my computer is back today and blocking my Unity from the Asset store again. I'm glad I downloaded a couple things, now to find out how to access them again without the store BECAUSE IT'S NOT THERE

I installed the latest update and now I cannot interact with the asset store from the editor. It loads and shows my icon that I have logged into the store in the top right and then it throws away that beautiful asset store screen and shows some grey screen which says "You are offline". And I'm like: "No I'm not, you just showed that I was logged in and as I went to interact you are telling me I'm offline but I am ONLINE".

Is there a list of addresses I need to unblock from my hosts file?
Are there certain things that I need to enable on my computer? For example I do not have flash installed due to it's security flaws.
Everything on my computer is blocked unless I give it permission and this is a hassle HOWEVER if you've ever had issues with people stealing intellectual property then you will understand why I do it this way.

I have tried disabling all firewall settings to see if it would work and it did not change anything so is there some website that needs to be allowed in the hosts file? I've never had this issue before with the asset store and I've been using unity since about 2012 or 2013.

    Windows 10.

In the meantime I managed to copy the needed code from other projects or websites and so I can function but I cannot access all the things I paid money for in the Asset store.
