Asset Store Daily / Weekly Sales?

There have been no daily or weekly asset store sales for a long time now, does this mean they have finally come to an end? I used to look forward to seeing what was on sale and picking up things that I might not need right now but didn't want to miss the opportunity of getting them cheaper.

 

They stopped doing them, I can't recall if there was a blog post, something in the publisher section or what but I do remember they mentioned they weren't going to continue those sales. I think the point was to bundle them into the bigger sales?

 

Ah that's a pity, I hope Unity start having more than a couple of sales a year then, thanks for the info I must have missed that

 

I think one of the biggest reasons of stopping the regular sales was that with too many sales people just waited for a sale of their followed assets and did not even consider buying it else. Having a daily or weekly deals gives the mentality that it will be there one day, I will wait. In reality many of the authors don't even have a chance to get their asset included in sales unless it's a mega sale including almost everything in the store.

 

@cyberdrizzt even though the daily and weekly official sales are gone, publishers can still have "hidden" sales where they manually change the price of the asset temporarily. You can find them all at http://www.assetstoresales.com. Being that they are unofficial sales, it's a good idea to check their price history too, to make sure the publisher isn't abusing their price changes or leaving their assets on "permanent sale".
