Asset server not properly syncing scripts?

    I'm not entirely sure how many of you guys use the built in asset server solution inside of Unity pro, i know most are doing outside syncs through git or other solutions but......
    Everytime our programmer does a scripting changes and syncs it to the asset server, we can sync, everything shows up to date, but all scripts appear to be broken with the traditional message of " the associated script can not be loaded. Please fix any compile errors and assign a valid script." We found a way to fix it by then having him package up the script folder and importing it on all our local copies, but that's a pain in the butt ;)
    Any clues as to why Unity / Asset Server combo would do that? I've never seen this problem before..
