My company is a private company that can't afford to buy a music recorder like Cakewall and reaper. Do you know any software that's free?

Audio recorders just record the sound of a sound bus on the pc. i.e. the stereo mixer, line in, mic... cakewalk and so on are sound sequencers. there are many free sequencers, and sound recorders.

search google for free sequencer pc/mac, and indeed audacity is very good and can record any sound driver on the PC, otherwise perhaps use Fraps and split the audio with VirtualDub, save... wav file...

There may be a way to save all the audio stream coming out of unity if that's what you want.

Is it an audio recording software you're looking for?
Or a music making software program?

    Like the poster above mentioned:
Audacity is a great one to record audio etc.

If you're looking for a DAW that makes music/soundtracks etc.
    LMMS
is a very good free alternative.
Here is a link to our new forum. https://lmms.io/forum/

This link is for, a Music site, that makes some fantastic VST's, that work with LMMS and other DAW music making software.

    Hope that helps.
    Enjoy! :D

Yeah. There is even a portable version too.
And you can put it on your pendrive, and carry it anywhere.:)
