AR Foundation w/ image target reco on old Android phone

Hi forum,

I would like to use AR Foundation in to track images on both iOS and Android. Our customer has a revenue higher than 10 Mio/year so we want to avoid high Vuforia costs for simple image recognition. However, as far as I've seen AR Foundation's image recognition is based on ARKit/Core, so for Android this would be limited to Android 7 and higher - right?
This way, an "old" Galaxy S5 wouldn't be able to provide image target recognition using AR Foundation?

Can someone please verify if I see it right, or does AR Foundation provide an "independent" image recognition? How's the quality compared to Vuforia?
