Application.ExternalCall documentation error - WebPlayer only?

We have been using Application.ExternalCall for browser communication for the last year, and I noticed that the documentation claims it is "WebPlayer Only". I have had no issues using it in WebGL, I was wondering if this is an oversight in the docs?
