Unfortunately, there are currently no plans to support Apple Silicon in the near future. However, I will take note of both of your comments to try and help gauge community interest for this platform. Our production team has stated we may revisit this feature in the future, if there is a large enough demand from the community.

For any other developers who would like to see an Apple Silicon compatible Vivox SDK, please feel free to also comment on this thread, so we take your interest into account as well!

On the developer side, there will be no Mac Intel users in a near feature. So not allowing us to use Vivox on a Mac Silicon for dev is saying goodbye to Mac users. You should really consider it.
    Thx.

This is required for continued Mac support, we already have many players on Apple Silicon.

Mac Silicon is the best desktop platform from Apple for gaming ever and it is replacing their Intel products. Why would you support Mac Intel and not Silicon when Intel's life is over at Apple? Does that actually mean you are slowly dropping support for Apple desktop?

Agreed with guys, our game as well has a lot of apple silicone players , and they are struggling without vivox voice chat. We need it so bad.

Definitely agree. Having to rely on Rosetta, or to say goodbye to mac players is not an ideal solution.
I'm tired of this "Apple users are only <insert here a number between 1 and 7>% of all players, who cares about them ?".
It's just a self-fulfilling prophecy, and you're are just giving us a reason to use either another voice chat solution, or another game engine.

Is this the reason why I get DllNotFoundException: libVivoxNative assembly error when using Vivox SDK on my MacBook with Apple Silicon? DllNotFoundException.JPG

This seems like a pretty necessary thing to support for continued use of Vivox for cross-platform voice chat...

Apple ARM support (M1, M2, MX...) is needed, It is very concerning that we need to request support for this feature.

The whole mac ecosystem will transition to the MX platform within a year and rosetta will be deprecated, so unless unity is abandoning the mac platform overall, it's a necessity.

Seriously? Come on Unity, you need to think farther into the future. This thread was created in Jan 2022 and still no support as of April 2023... what the... who's running that place.

This is pretty absurd still - I wonder if they'll skip Vision Pro support too...

I have no clue why this isn't supported, you're literally just writing off all apple players by not supporting this. In 1-2 years from now almost every mac user will be a silicon mac user. Already right now more then 60% of our Mac users are on silicon chips.

Fix this asap, what a absurd answer that you're not planning to support the tech which all apple users will be using in 1-2 years from now and literally already 60% of our mac user base is on silicon chips....

Isn’t Vivox the service that was urging developers to drop Linux support because they couldn’t bother to support it?

And you’re hoping they will support silicon when they have clearly said they have no plans for it?

Just surprised that Unity purchased Vivox and isn't simply dictating to them that they support Apple Silicon.

It seems crazy now that Apple is getting so cozy with Unity due to the Epic disputes that they would let any of their services simply not support the platforms...

    Don't believe marketing.

Unity is half assing Apple Silicon support in many aspects, a service not supporting it at all is pretty on brand.
