On my Mac M1 using Unity 2020.3 or 2021.1, the editor constently stops running and Mac OS forces me to shut it down due to the system running out of memory.

Anyone got this issue as well? Is there any workaround?

My Mac has 16 gb of RAM and 1 TB of SSD, but the dialog displays Unity is taking 64 gb of memory and had to be paused.

The project opens and run well on our 12 PCs and even worked on my old Surface Book 1, so there must be something wrong.

Same issue here with Mac M2. Starting from 2022.3.16 it’s is impossible to open our project on MacOS (2022.3.15 works). Unity import just eat all the available ram and crash the whole system (sometime the Mac reboot if you decided to ignore its warning regarding Unity). I did notice that Unity > 2022.3.15 on windows (with the same project) does “occupy” the whole system memory during the project import, it just don’t crash and once the import finished everything is back to normal.

    any help Unity ?
