AO map and light map

    I am still learning how to use the advanced features of unity lighting system. After some test, I get a question. For static objects, should i prepare AO texture for them? Or just baking the unity light map is okay?

    Lightmaps are usually relatively low resolution compared to the asset's main textures. Lightmaps also don't take into account normal maps, only the geometry itself.

    AO textures thus are still useful for smaller details that may only exist in the normal maps, or in geometry details too small for the lightmaps to capture.
