Anyway to animate an armature from its parent?

    I have an animator who uses blender, and when I imported the model and animations it worked great! But when I wanted to add some animation events based on functions found in the armature's parents, since the animations are in the armature, a child of the parent with the scripting. Is there a way around this? Like, having the animator in the parents and having it animate the bones of its children?
