    Hi,

I'm looking for some Unity tutoring via emal (or in person if you are local in Los Angeles). Will pay for your time.

I am a film/video editor (feature films and television) - I majored in computer programming back in college.

Unity is a great tool - I am having fun playing with it, but I do need some 1 on 1 teaching to help me understand all the issues I am facing.

Like I said, will gladly pay to learn - anyone interested?

    Mitch

What "issues" specifically are you looking to review with that person? Unity's GUI or workflow? Scripting? Modeling? Common needs like movement etc or complex stuff like networking and the like? There's lots of great talent here and I'm sure once specific areas of need are identified someone will be more than happy to help you out.

I'd be glad to help you out, but I don't think it's necessary.

Have you run through all of OTEE's tutorials? They're great learning tools. The forums are awesome and incredibly responsive. The IRC channel is just as good a tool for smaller questions. All of the above are free.

...that said, if you still think you need help beyond that, I'd love to take your money. ;-)

lol ray. yeah myself, i'm kind of attached to my wallet. :) mitch, seriously, you ought to just do some of the tutorials and post qs here on the forum. usually answered lick-ity-split as long as they aren't too vague.

I have no problems with the Unity GUI or it's workflow. I'm not tackling animation or modeling or networking at this point either. That will come later.

I think I need help with Javascript and all the runtime classes and some of the functions. The manual is great - been reading through it - done all the tutorials, but I'd like to take a step back and cover the foundation for all this. I need some guidance with scripting. Tried out some of the code on the wiki site.

I would lke to concentrate my efforts right now on getting up to speed with Javascript and how to best use it to program with Unity.

If anyone wants to help, please PM me.

    Thanks guys.

    Mitch

Well I believe what is being said is we are all willing to help you, you just need to provide somewhat specific questions on what you need help with.

For example, when you say getting up to speed on Javascript in Unity and how to best use it... What do you mean by that? Do you mean, attaching scripts to objects? Creating classes? Just the syntax in general? Possibly all of these... :)

    Regards,

Between the manual, the forums and the tutorials, I'm picking it all up very nicely. I'll post specific questions as I wrestle with them.

    Thanks for encouraging me.

Although some of us will take your spare cash anyway, as long as you're being free with it. ;)
