I have read a plethora of articles/posts how Screen Readers cannot work with Unity apps/games due to some overlay over the top of all the UI controls that Unity creates. So tools like VoiceOver and TalkBack cannot read the UI fields natively. I know there is an asset, Unity Accessibility Plugin, from MetalPopGames that tries to work around this. Though I cannot see how well it does the job due to not enough reviews to attain a rating. Though I believe it tries to mimic that functionality rather than enable it.
The Unity IDE is a separate though also important topic.

There are compliance deadlines looming over our heads for the CVAA (21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act) for January 1, 2019. It looks to impact a lot of game developers.
    .Here's a summary:

    I have a couple questions...
    1) Is there any way to see if correcting this issue is anywhere on the development radar for the Unity development team?
    2) If it's not on the radar, how does one request it be added?

    Thanks in advance,
