I´m new here and found this today.
I am gonna do an educational game for kids 7-8 years.

I am gonna use 2D scenes, object not moving, drag and drop interactions
and finally a button that, when pushed, check if the child has solved it correctly.
If it is right hten go to next scen. If not solved the task correctly, try again.

    Now to my question:
When I look at tutorials most of them jump right on advanced solutions with 3D, cameras and such things?
Is there a light version of this for more plain solutions like mine?

Most of all, I dream of a tutorial in which I can inport my assets, get them on scen, drag them to some kind of hotspot, make a ok-button who ativate check and look for a solution...as described above.

Is there any tutorials for his level or do I have to learn ALL features first before I can make my easy ones?

You hit the nail on the head for what causes such a steep learning curve in unity. Most tutorials seem to focus on doing FPS or spaceship control or character controllers and so forth. At the opposite end you have the reference examples adding an object to a scene. Adding a collider to it. Etc. Not much is out there for the middle ground. Partly I think this is because Unity makes some fairly complex things easy and the focus on 3D is probably because sprites and the other 2D stuff has only been around a year or less.

Check out the Unity manual. That may help although you probably won't know exactly what to look for.

    Thanks for answer!
Later i found this 2D guide:
    http://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/modules/beginner/2d

You´re right about that Unity makes diffucult things easy and I now wonder if it also makes "not so difficult things" easy too?
It´s hard to overview the possibilites for these solutions and if it´s not possible and the learning curve is steep, maybe Unity is not my solution... or it is. It´s hard to find out...

If anyone has a tip on how to make an object on scene draggable, make some kind of hotspot and buttons that check if the solution is correct, I am still curiou and eager to find out! :-D
