    Hi guys,

Do you have any tips or advise for improving the compatibility of Unity games with Android devices.

I don't mean device resolutions in general, but to make game work perfectly on different devices.

    Thanks in advance :)

One of the major things I do, is to test on the oldest, slowest Android phone I have around. At one point, I was just using my newest, fastest device and I wouldn't find performance problems or bug until a user or lots of users reported them.

Now, I know if my game plays well on the slower devices, it will be fine on the higher end.

    Thanks for a suggestion!

What type of old phone would you recommend? Are there any statistics regarding what operating system does Android device owners have?

Here's a breakdown of the market share of different Android versions, straight from the horses mouth:

    Android Platform Versions

As to what low spec device to use currently, I'm interested in that as well. The following page shows market share by device.

Seems like the Samsung Galaxy S3 or S3 mini might be a good option. Ant thoughts anyone?
