No idea what to do. Really need some guideline.

Even I put the game title in the middle, it still looks empty.

And I don't know how to show "this is a chess game" concept on the image.

I would suggest either trying to learn composition and design yourself as @Murgilod pointed out, or even better just hire an artist to do it. It's what they (we) do. If you're short on cash, hit up fiverr or Reddit gamedev or something like that. Presentation has a huge impact on how well a game will sell.

Speaking of which the name of the game is just awful. A name should grab you when you see it and make you want to look deeper. Words like "super" and "robot" are very generic and common. My first thought seeing a name like that would be the game itself must be equally generic and common.

To me the robots look very much like mecha therefore the name I would start with would be "Mecha Chess" which would have the added bonus that "mecha" could sound very similar to "mega" if you say it fast enough which would qualify as a replacement for the "super".

Super Robot is also a specific genre term though, which the style is clearly evoking.

The usual name of the genre is mecha. However, Super Robot refers to subtype of the genre that was popular in roughly 1970s...1980s.

    Meaning this:

    Instead of this:

I.e. magical robots vs attempted realism.

Seeing as both "super robot" and "mecha" have some overlap you might want to check which one your target audience will be the most familiar with.

Given the design "super robot" fits.

"Robot chess" would make me expect something nearly sci-fi.

And mecha makes me think about more modern and more realistic mech designs, or battletech kind of machines.

If i see the word 'chess' in the title of a game I expect it to follow the rules of chess. Given it is clearly not chess, writing chess in the name seems misleading. I guess seeing any screenshot with the hex board will make it obvious that it is not chess, but still not sure its a great idea.

Yes, it is not chess. This game is just to select robot parts and trait, and then fight in auto or manual mode. Only few rules, line of sight require to attack, no counter attack if attack from back, die immediately if out of chessboard.
The word "Strategy" seem to be too serious. I am still looking for a good word.

Yeah if it's not Chess then I wouldn't call it that, because people looking for chess will be like, "yeah, chess!" then "oh." and people who don't want chess will be like "yeah! Robots!" then "oh."

    What about:

"Super Robot : Battle Attack P.L.A.N.E.T. Formation Z"
