Can't be bothered making a new thread that will probably get the same answers,

so while this is being derailed does anybody know any 3d platformer kits around? I know there is the 3d platformer but its old and hard to base your foundations around.

    1. make lawn terrain, make two cube paddles/raquets, make ball, add physics
    2. ???
    3. sell your newly created lawn tennis starter kit in the asset store for profits!

@banreaxe - Arg! You haven't figured out the second step either!

@jessica1986 - Regardless of your platform, you would limit your racquet's tilt angle to make it easier to complete a successful hit. The tilt angle could also have different limits based on the racquet height (overhand shot would have a different set of limits than a backhand shot, for example). Then add a ball and some game logic, and let the physics engine do the rest. And perhaps another player to make it challenging.

Wow. Didn't know 1/2 of the unity3d game developers are so funny.

Anyway. I'm new to unity3d too. I would look into Asset Store > Tennis. Some stuff there which might be useful to learn from and to end up with a tennis game.

Come on Unity Community surely we can do better than deride people.

Do you want VR lawn Tennis, 2D, 3D Topdown or Firstperson?

If you start with the basic prototype assets add the character assets and camera assets and make a simple 3D bat from a couple of cylinders you will have the beginnings of a lawn tennis game.

After all it's just 3D pong.

Probably off to Unreal, maybe Unity does need a lawn tennis prototype and a blueprints style visual coding system!

Is Lithium something besides an element, a slang word for a prescribed drug, and a slang word for a battery type?

It's the software platform that they were using for their attempt at a new forum.

Who Unity? You made me google lithium and I had forgotten that it is only atomic element 3 and pretty common in drinking water and foods and it's use as a prescribed drug isn't witch-doctoring like I used to think. My apologies to those doctors.

Yes. It was broken. In terms of functionality it was like taking all the advancements to forums from the past twenty years and throwing them all away. In terms of appearance it was hideous to the point people were getting headaches and couldn't look at it for more than a few minutes at a time.

Lucky you missed it! While you were gone Unity decided to completely change the forum tech. It was a disaster. Fortunately they rolled it back after a week or two.

Lithium was the name of the new forum tech.

You can still see the remains of the train wreak that was lithium here.
