Any news about AutoLOD?

    Hi there,
    are there any news/plans about AutoLOD or is it one of this announced features for Unity which just die a few month after announcement or maybe one of the features that are announced (maybe) years later?

    Sometimes I've got this feeling that Unity isn't any longer interested in pushing developers, but much much more in making a lot of money with licenses and AssetStore sells, which could be a good reason, why so much things are missing in the Editor (SO MUCH!!).

    They're using it in the megacity demo, so I assume it's still under peripheral development.

    Hopefully, its one of the big missing things in Unity.

    How did you get the information, that's used in the demo?

    I downloaded it and looked into it. I also already knew since half of my face is pressed against Unity's various github repos.

    Be nice to get an update on the from the Unity guys. It'd be a very useful tool.

    Yes, competing engines have this functionality. It would be very nice to have.

    As a non-artist it would save me immeasurable time to have this feature, not to mention the performance I could gain.

    It's hard for artists too, to juggle so many assets, files, piddling about - artists would prefer drawing. It's not just for programmers.
