    Hi,

I'm interested in using Unity to develop small casual games for mobiles and one of my top requirements is to build apps with *very short loading time* even on low end devices. I've tried to use IL2CPP and keep things absolutely minimal on resources but what I am achieveing so far is something about a 4 seconds start up time (including the Unity splash logo) on a snapdragon 820 device, which is not exactly acceptable for my case. The games I build are something like apps / one-screen puzzle mini-games with short play sessions (1-5 mins).

My question is: How much of this 4 seconds can be reduced, especially without the Unity splash logo? Do you have in mind any android games/apps that load very fast? This is crucial for my case.

    Thanks for your help!

I downloaded a dozen of lite unity games from "Made with Unity" forum section and tested their startup time. The best one shows a custom logo in 2 seconds and enters the main game in 4 (total) seconds (snapdragon 820).

Have you ever seen any unity game with better startup time? What if there is no custom splash screen? Can the startup time be reduced to ~2 seconds?

if you're going for a 2 second startup time, and your games are simple puzzle games as you said, you might wanna check out Project Tiny. It's been in preview for a long time now, been rebuilt and revamped a lot but I think it's the only way to get almost-instant load times.
