I also just bit the bullet.

I realize that the Indie cost wont last forever, and I might not be able to afford a higher cost later on.

I just became a proud owner of Unity Pro on Friday! Glad to be on board so far and very happy with the helpful community and developers.

My OS X skills are nil, so please pardon my newbie posts!

Well this seems like a good place for help with Unity, modeling and texturing in general, or even the odd Mac OS question. Also to anyone thinking about making the jump, DO IT TODAY!

    Prices jump starting tomorrow.

Gagh, another 4 months or so and I'd be able to get pro at all. Now, never.

Here's for hoping that there's an introductory price on Unity 2.0

You don't NEED pro, unless you have something so awesome that you know you will get piles of money for publishing it. And in that case, Pro would be a sound investment.

I plan to eventually use Unity pro outside of my hobbiest pursuits for marketing in a web development firm. So I just wow Big Client X with a demo done up in Unity indie, and get them to pick up the tab for Unity Pro.

Granted, it wont be an easy sale once Unity hits 2k for pro registration.

I don't need it, but I really really really want it :p

I can think of some brilliant things to do with OpenGL, RTT and especially built in plugins :(

    Ah well. Welcome newcomers!
