The time has come to present the 5 finalist for the Top DOG contest. Judging these games was no easy task, and we truly wish that everyone could become a finalist. Nevertheless, we had to pick five.

Please keep in mind that we want to share these games with everyone as soon as possible. Some of them were built using a pre-release version of Unity 2.0 and therefore require the beta version of the Unity Web Player. With that in mind, we’d like to wait until 2.0 is shipped before releasing these games for everyone to play.

Without further adieu, here are the finalists in no particular order…

    Drumroll please?

That wraps it up for this round.

Thank you so much to everyone who entered! We truly wish we could have chosen each and every one of you to win the Top DOG contest! For those who are able to make it to the Unite Conference, we have confirmed that a Shockwave.com representative will be in attendance all three days, and they would love to see your game. So keep on making those games, and remember the portals are just only an email away!

I loved being a judge, even though narrowing things down was an extremely hard task. I want to thank everyone that entered as you all made it a smashing success, the goal was to draw out some amazing content and it worked.

YOU GUYS ROCK! Congrats to everyone, notably the finalists.

We do want to make them available, to play, but we are waiting to finish Unity 2.0 so that everyone who plays will get a shipping version of the Web Player plugin, and we don't have a lot of pre-release web players installed willy nilly on everyone's computers.

Congrats to the finalists and everyone else. The list of amazing examples of Unity work just doubled, didn't it? At least doubled.

What portal wouldn't want those games splashed on their main page, eh? :D

Woeha! My GravBall dream has come true!
    Congrats to all the finalists!
There were a lot of awesome looking games that didn't make it to the finals, so I hope I'll be playing them as well in the near future!

Btw, am I the only finalist that isn't a company? I feel very proud!

    Thanks OTEE!

    Yep, congrats all!
I could see Dukateers in the finals from the first screenshot, and GravBall from the video, the others I hadn't seen yet but I bet they rock!

As for the rest of us losers :p... will we still get OTEE's opinion/score (that I think someone promised but not sure)?

Good luck to you five for phase 2!!

Sam is managing the effort to respond to everyone that entered, finalists or not. I believe a part of that is offering score/feedback information.

Awesome work guys! Some professional looking projects there for sure.

It looks like most if not all of the finalists have been developing for a while, you can tell from the eye-candy. ;-)

Congrats also needs to go all who crammed in the two weeks or less to make their game for this contest. It's one thing speed-polishing a game in production, but to start from scratch is very impressive too.

Awesome work all around to pull off those projects guys! Looking forward to playing them. Good luck on the final round!

    OMG... awesome.

Congrats to all the top five and to all those that gave it a shot.

    Glad I pulled out :D

I just realized my entry sucks!

Oh well, I will be making a lot of improvements to my entry so hopefully when I release it, it will not be an embarrasment to the community :p

We get to play with the games for free right?

    Good luck to the finalist!
