    Hi everyone,

We are shutting down the Plastic SCM Asset Store plugin (beta) now that the plugin is available via the Version Control package in the Unity Package Manager. The package is the official integration of Plastic SCM in Unity that we will support and update.

    Here are the release versions:
    • 2019.4.29f1
    • 2020.3.15f1
    • 2021.1.15f1
    • 2021.2.0b6

    Why are we doing this?

You will benefit from additional features, such as the ability to join Plastic SCM projects from the Unity Hub (coming soon). You will also get access to regular updates for Plastic SCM for Unity directly via the Package Manager.

What does this mean for me?
    • All future versions of Plastic SCM for Unity will be available via the Version Control package (com.unity.collab-proxy) instead of the Unity Asset Store.

    • The Asset Store plugin has been disabled for new users as of today and will be disabled for existing users on September 7, 2021.

    • You will need to uninstall the Plastic SCM Asset Store plugin from your Unity project in order to use Plastic SCM for Unity via the Version Control package (com.unity.collab-proxy). Here are the steps to do so:
    1. Navigate to your Assets/Plugins folder in your Unity Project.
    2. Delete the PlasticSCM folder.
    3. Re-open your Unity Project to recompile your packages.
    4. Note: The .plastic workspace folder in the root of the Unity Project does not need to be removed as it can be read by the Version Control package.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or feedback. We are actively working on adding more features and improvements to the package and we really value your feedback as we work on providing a deeper integration of Plastic SCM in Unity!

    Happy creating!

    The Plastic SCM team
