Animator Override Controllers are pointless without masks

    Animator Override Controllers are a great idea, you can reuse the base state machine across lots of different characters. Unless you use layer masks in your base Animator, as there is no way to set these masks in the override controller.

    I don't really know why Unity haven't put the option to replace the masks in the inspector, like they do with animation clips. I've found various forum posts about this from 6 years ago with no replies.

    Sadly going to have to rebuild the same animator for multiple characters now.
