Currently I'm reimporting a few animations which is when I noticed a strange thing happening where the transition between the reimported animation causes the root of the character to make a weird "hitch" with any old animation. I do not recall tampering with the rig that much so I wonder why the root decides to act weird. The root is not animated at all as well (although it says Root contains position and rotation curves in the animation clips in Unity even though it doesnt move, so maybe there's some residue here). Both animations start and end at the exact same spot

If I reimport 2 animations and transition between them, it looks fine. It's not an issue with a specific part of the animation because if I change the transition duration, the weird movement only happens during the transition period. It seems like there's some ghost curves on the root that makes new and old animations transition poorly, but I fail to see why Unity decides to make such a big jump when I try to blend them

Is there a way to fix this or not import root animation?
