Edit: Ok, I get it now. The transition from any state is triggered whenever the conditions are satisfied, which is all the time. Hi there, random beginner here. I set up player animation for a top down game and the state machine works as expected, except that the walking animations don't work. While the walking states trigger correctly, the animation either doesn't play or restarts every frame. I can also not preview the animations in the scene view when I press the button in the animation window. I thought updating the state machine parameters might re-trigger the state transition so I made sure to only call SetBool/SetInteger when necessary. Not sure what else to try.
