    How do I make the clip editable and not read-only for an fbx animation that is checked out in p4? upload_2018-3-14_16-46-15.png

    AFAIK animations embedded in FBX are always read-only. Select it and press CTRL-D to duplicate it, the duplicate should be editable.

    You can also edit some of the details of the animation in the animation tab of the fbx file itself - like if it loops, if you want to start/end it at a different time, and so on.

    That being said, if it's a complex model you're better of animating it in a dedicated animation program.
