Animating a child object

    Hi,

    I have a character that has a rifle deep in his hierarchy. I wish to animate its bolt carrier. Should I use the animator on the character or create the second, on the rifle to animate it. What is the best way to animate a child object of any object. So two animators possible in the object hierarchy? One for the character and one for the weapon?
