Hey guys I tried my hand at a animated skydome with day and night, without looking at complicated stuff like scattering, mie and that other girl. So it is fairly simple, but I'm pretty happy with the overall outcome. I've included a build (win only) and some screens Have a look: Build
They are all 1024 maps, and I'm a bit reluctant to go any higher. Sure if it was meant for sky only demo, they could get bumped up to 2048 or even 4096, but I think it'll be hardly noticeable, once put in a scene with a lot of stuff going on. Edit: Added stars to the build (not in any screens).

You should hook up a web player version. I looked at the .exe and wanted to to see the top to see how the uv map fell together. It looks good from what I can see.

I've updated my skydome so here is a new video. I've tweaked the night time, added moonlight and added morning/evening mist on the ocean.
