So after Neil mentioned that the particle system now can be animated through a sprite, I took a shot at it. This is just my first test with it, its a new fire efect for open fire because lets face it the one that comes with Unity sux :p Jeff

    Excellent.

Outcast, that seems like a nice project for a tutorial on Unify. Particles are one of those features that artists can really get into very quickly and see some results without any programming skills needed.

    Just a suggestion. :)

It does look nice - reminds me of the Myth engines...

I'm not sure if this is a reasonable graphical effect for Unity to be producing on my graphics card.

Right. But could you report a bug on it using Report Bug.app.

The forum is not the right place to report a graphics card issue. I understand a graphics glitch is annoying when it happens, but the best way to get it fixed is using Report Bug.app. Putting screenshots of it on the forum is not going to get it fixed any sooner.

Hmmm, i think there is somekind of pattern in the blockstructure. Interesting! Somekind of code or a message in a ancient alien language?!

Well, and if all this turns out to be false at least it's a nice looking bug. I have much uglier things down here... :O)

    Regards,

I downloaded the 3 fires and it worked fine, I was using the Windows plugin, with a Nvidia Gforce4 64mb. I would like to make fire like that-looks great

I thought of that, but since it occurred in a web player, on a machine which did not have Unity Editor installed, I felt that downloading all of Unity to report a bug was a bit overkill. Also, I figured that the Report Bug.app was only for Unity Editor. I'm sure it does get annoying to deal with everyone posting reports on the forums, but Report Bug.app feels like it is part of Unity Editor, since it appears when it crashes and seems to be nothing more than a crash catcher. But, sorry, I won't do it again.
