Animate & Move

I'm just going to start off by saying "I'm new to Unity"
Anyway in the journey of learning Unity i decide to learn how to animate my player / cube with a basic "idle" and "walking" animation, my only problem is with the walking animation i animated the y axis, and now the cube won't move. So Is there a way to animate this cube while using the y axis? Or is there a way to just get the cube to move?
