Animate a component (enabled/disabled) in a Timeline Editor Animation track.

    Hello everyone,
    i am trying to enable/disable a component on an animation track in the unity timeline editor (either 2017.2 or 2018.1 (beta)), just like you would do when creating a new animation clip in the old animator editor.

    Am i doing something wrong or this is not possible right now?

    I tried selectring the "animation track" containing the game object i need, hit the record icon (red icon), enable/disable a script, but no keyframe appear.

    Is this intended?

    EDIT.
    Seems to work but is glitchy, sometimes the key is created, other times not.
    EDIT2:
    Also, when creating a new animation track for a gameobject that is already using an animation clip, even if the new track only animates the controller enable/disabled property, the transforms override whatever the animation clip rootmotion was doing, neutralising it.
