Having completed my latest contract, working splendidly with Charles and Nicholas over at framebunker (http://framebunker.com), we decided to extend our combined reach and potential by joining forces.

This means folding the AngryAnt (http://AngryAnt.com) contracting efforts into framebunker, continuing from there. We are open to collaborating on interesting projects, so do not hesitate to give us a shout (http://framebunker.com/#contact).

Meanwhile, we enter final production on Static Sky (http://playstaticsky.com), preparing for a 2018 launch. And as efforts ramp down there, we spin up a new and exciting production.

Stay tuned for more updates on those.

I have two questions: a) what genre is static sky (I think ideally I should have a better idea about that after briefly checking the page and watching the short video), and b) why did you choose the term "streetsamurai"? I thought that was a term unique to Shadowrun.

I'm going to guess the sky is the colour of an old-fashioned TV, tuned to a dead channel. I.e. it's cyberpunk :)

For me in games cyberpunk is a theme, not a genre. It looked a bit like it could be a twinstick shooter or something weird in realtime that I don't understand. I don't have any devices I could play it on anyway, but I thought not knowing what kind of core gameplay loop to expect is worth mentioning.

Have to admit my first thought seeing the title of the thread was that it sounded like a great name for the demoscene.

My guess is a gun based diablo game streamlined for mobile.

I must say, though, the environmental art is fan-friggin-tastic. Really beautiful work.

@Martin_H: Street samurai are a general cyberpunk thing - of which the Shadowrun universe is of-course a branch. Though I don't think he is ever referred to as such, first example that comes to mind would be Hiro Protagonist.

Gameplay-wise the iOS version is not twin-stick. While some have achieved good results with that, it doesn't really fit what we want to do here. It is a fair guess from the gameplay videos though, given that they mostly show a single player character. In fact you can control multiple characters, interacting directly with taps and gestures.

Genre-wise Static Sky is a realtime tactical action adventure. The player is given missions to take their squad of stringers on, during which they encounter challenges overcome through tactical combat, hacking, stealth, and more.

Note that for contracting work we do not specifically restrict to cyberpunk-related jobs ;)

So sort of like old Syndicate from the 90s? (one of the best games ever)

That would be quite a niche. "Will add neon for food!"
