AndroidManiffest.xml failure to merge but doens't say why

    For years now I've had to deal with this and I just wish Unity would finally put ina real error message.

    Everytime I try combining the various 3rd party add-ons, (in my case Chartboost, Google Play, Unity In-App Purchase, Phonton), I have to deal with a bad AndroidManifest.XML merging. I always have to guess. I spend days guessing what isn't merging correctly.

    If I could get a real freaking error message it would save me days worth of work. Days. Days. Every single time I upgrade, Days to figure out why the Manifest won't merge.

    I dig though logs and all I get is below.

    I want a real error message. That tells me EXACTLY what part of the XML won't merge.

    Hi,

    Did you already looked at the specific log for the manifest merge process?

    File: ....gradleOut/build/outputs/logs/manifest-merger-release-report.txt

    It is located in the temp folder. If you use the internal build system, 'gradleOut' will probably be something else.

    Thank you for the advice.

    However, I don't understand what you mean by "gradleOut". I've never heard of that and can't find a folder named that.

    I searched my entire harddrive for manifest-merger-release-report.txt and couldn't find any files. This was after I had Unity try building again.

    When I search the web that file is suppose to appear in temp folder used by Android Studio. I couldn't find a temp folder for it in it's install location.
