i have just installed the android tools and upon install have selected the 4.2.2 api but the android 6 is ticked for install by default, should i have unticked this or does this have to be installed aswell as i now have api installed for 4.2.2 and 6, as i will be testing on 4.2.2 should i now delete the android 6 api using the manager

newbie to android developement so probably a silly question

    thanks in advance

I would recommend you to install the APIs marked by default on the manager, but AFAIK, Unity doesn't care about them. Every time I export my projects, I test on several devices and to be honest I don't remember if I've installed the respective API for the platform I am testing or not.

it is not made clear in the instructions, do i have to install every api after the one i am testing on or just the lowest that i am aiming for, if the lowest is 4.2.2 will all newer android versions run it or do i have to install all api's after 4.2, why is there not a clear answer.

I think that's the what you should do. I don't remember installing the API for Lollipop, yet my game runs on devices running the mentioned Android version. Also, know that you can always go back and install other APIs using the manager, you are not forced to only use the APIs you downloaded right after you installed :)

the manager is crap, it just took 3 hours to delete one api, says done, load manager and now it says that the api is still installed, this is not good.

also just checked the install folder and it says it is 17.3 gb, why this take so much space? with only 2 api installed?
