Android Gradle Build Fails With "execution Failed For Task ':packagedebug'."

    Trying to make an Android build and a little unsure what exactly is going on with this error. Could use any suggestions anyone might have! Here is the build error in its entirety. Thanks in advance for anyone who has any ideas what's going on here!

    Doesn't really help.
    You may want to do the following:
    - run the build (it fails)
    - try to run the command line from the 2nd line of your snippet while in Temp/gradleOut directory of your project
    - try stacktrace, info or debug option as specified in your snippet hoping it gives more information.

    Running the StackTrace shows the actual error is: "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space". So I'm running out of heap space on the build and it's causing a crash. Ran a -task option as well and it just says the same thing with no real further detail: "(No message provided) > (No message provided) > Java heap space"

    So looks like I need to increase the heap space...

    Okay - I found the secret to making this work. If you go to Edit -> Preferences -> External Tools, under Android there is a field for "Maximum JVM heap size, Mbytes". I set mine to 98304 and the builds immediately started compiling and running just fine.

    @RedVonix yes there is a setting for JVM heap size these days.
    98Gb looks like a bit too much... unless you have a monster machine of course.
    The default value is 4Gb IIRC; building huge projects may require more; it's Java which likes to eat memory.

    Sounds like a good solution, but not available in unity 2018.1.2 (didn't see this in external tools...)
    I read its possible to change Java heap size, but for a non java coder like me going to Android studio for that is almost impossible. Can anyone please provide guide lines to how exactly this is done in Android Studio?

    and still need more instruction. Can't find the studio.vmoptions file for starters.

    Having this issue with Unity 2018.4.12. Does someone know how to increase java memory when starting a build using the command line (I am using Jenkins)?

    The JVM Heap Size setting in Preferences -> External Tools is an edditor setting, You could open editor once, change that setting and then use command line to build your project. Starting with Unity 2019.3 it's possible to use this API https://docs.unity3d.com/2019.3/Doc...roidExternalToolsSettings-maxJvmHeapSize.html

    Getting this issue from an empty project with URP from a new Windows machine and just installed Unity... Project was acutally compiling fine on the other machine.

    Pushing the JVM Heap Size value to 98304 didn't really changed anything...
    Any other tips for this?

    Self note : delete the "C:\Users\xxxxxxx\.gradle\caches" dir, build again.

    Thank you!!! This worked great!
    I changed the heap size to the default 4096 heap size and now the errors are gone.

    I've tried everything in this thread and haven't had success. My project built just fine two days ago when I left it. Now I'm stuck with no remedy.

    Trying random things is not the correct way to solve issues. You should read the error message fully and try to understand what is the exact issue that is happening in your case. If you don't understand the error message, then you should post the full message here. Without that nobody can know what is happening on your machine.

    Hello, i found this thread after searched the error on google, it is similar to this but i don't know if it's the correct thread to post it in.
    Anyway, I imported google play games plug into my project following the guide i found online

    I setup google play from Window>Google Play Games>Setup
    I put all the data there(it's correct) A final window pops up saying it was configured successfully.

    Then i build my project for google play store with Google Play App bundle.

    2. Toggle checkmarks(Disable and Enable) in external tools for jdk and Android sdk
    3. RESTART unity
