I'm fairly new to using unity with android, but I am able to make a simple scene in unity 4.3.2f1 and build it, and it successfully opens and runs on my device as expected. My tablet is running android 4.0.3.

However, when I make a scene in unity 5.0.0f4 - 64bit, (completely blank, just a camera) and build it, it goes trough the build process without errors and deploys on my device. When the newly created app opens, I get a message saying the following :

Failure to initialize! Your hardware does not support this application, sorry!

The only option I have is to click ok, and when I do that the app quits. the unity splash screen doesn't even show. I then checked that, in fact, my build settings were the same as in unity 4.3.2. They are, and I even disabled all the new light mapping features (unchecked everything) in the lighting panel.

Any body know what is going on? Has the minimum requirement for android devices that work with unity changed? I couldn't find anything in the release notes saying so.

If any one could give some input, has a solution or is experiencing the same problem, let me know below!

    Thanks! :)

Since Unity 5 only x86 devices and ARMv7 devices that support NEON instructions are supported. Afaik only Tegra 2 devices are affected by this limitation.

I am really really new to this, and now I am wondering... With the old Unity 4.6 I could test games on my adroid by UnityRemote... after upgrading to Unity 5 I cannot anymore use the gyro... is it because Unity 5 then... how can I roll back to Unity4.6? can it still be downloaded?

Ok, that's too bad. My device is a Sony Tablet S with a ARMv7 processor, and in the cpu-info, under features, neon is not listed. Guess that means that my device is no longer compatible. Is their any work around on the unity side? Any way to make a build that dosent require it? As not all ARMv7 processors support neon.

Are you sure you are using the newest version of UnityRemote? a new one was released, Unity Remote 4 and can be found here:

If you are, not sure what it could be. Works for me.
