I just downloaded Unity 5 Personal edition and I've tried a dozen times now to run a simple scene (a plane to walk on and a first person character) on my tablet, but no matter how I set things up, the MobileSingleStickControl does not function nor do any of the other setups for a mobile device. Everything is fine through the Unity remote but once I build and run, nothing! Can someone point me in the right direction please?

When you say it does not function, do you mean it does not respond when you click/touch it?

I was banging my head against the wall when I had a problem like that. Turns out I forgot to add "GameObject > UI > Event System"

    Hope this helps :)

No it doesn't respond at all, I had added the Event System but I just tried deleting and adding again, still no joy!

From what I noticed, it happens when there's an Android-sided error. The one I've seen has to do with event errors (ie infinity loop on events connected to scripts).

Attach a debugger (Android Studio's device monitor is the easiest) and you'll figure it out in no time at all!
