Android ARCore compilation issue in starting from Unity 2018.2

Hey,

Here's the compiler error I started getting after switching Unity to 2018.2 from 2018.1:
"Could not find method implementation() for arguments [{name=UnityARCore, ext=aar}]"

The only mention I could find was here, but there are no solutions except for rolling back Unity: https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-2018-2-3f1-build-issue-with-gradle-and-googleaidl.546478/

Any ideas what might be causing it?
