Android app crash after project upgrade from 2019.4.18 LTS to 2020.3.12 LTS

    Hi,

    We just upgraded our project from 2019.4.18f1 to 2020.3.12f1 without changing anything major. Some packages were automatically upgraded by Unity. The project does not have any compilation errors (runs fine in the editor) and builds for Android XR Platform successfully.

    But on running the app on a compatible VR headset, it crashes immediately with these error log-

    2021-07-09 16:59:13.308 5211-5531/com.vmware.vxr.vxrclient.picovr E/Unity: The file '/data/app/com.vmware.vxr.vxrclient.picovr-RHX6slUP3JsexyunvQ4Wyw==/base.apk/assets/bin/Data/level0' is corrupted! Remove it and launch unity again!
    [Position out of bounds!]


    Any idea what could be causing this kind of a crash or corruption? We did remove the VersionControl UPM package (com.unity.collab-proxy) since it was adding newtonsoft json dependency which we already have in our project folder. I cant think of anything else.

    First make sure your tools work with that version of Unity. Make a blank project, insert the VR tools / packages, bring up a silly blank scene, see if that goes.

    Other things to try in your project is just doing another full Reimport All ...

    Simple scenes for each XR headset seem to work fine but I have a feeling the upgrade has either corrupted the project or broken some scene prefabs in a bad way, since the error does mention level0 being corrupt. In the process of redoing all prefabs and investigating further.
