I have read: http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/ReducingFilesize.html which states the following: "The amount of assets in your project folder does not influence the size of your built player. Unity is very smart about detecting which assets are used in your game and which are not. Unity follows all references to assets before building a game and generates a list of assets that need to be included in the game. Thus you can safely keep unused assets in your project folder." I built a fairly simple project with a two texture terrain, a skybox, a couple effects, and one model and it was 16MB. Despite the documentation I removed from my assets (in Project pane) some unused assets and rebuilt and my app shrunk to 11MB. Anyone know what I am seeing? Is having resources listed under assets in the project view (but not in any included scene) still make it "used" and therefore effect file size?

UPDATE: I went and looked at the editor.log and confirmed it did indeed include the textures from the "unused" asset. Further digging revealed I had an inactive reference to this asset in one of my prefabs. The editor.log was very useful but I confused me at first since it contains historical information even from other projects. Thus, my problem is solved.
