Android 8192 texture displays purple !?

    Hi,

    I know this has been discussed a few times, and I know the answer is because Unity thinks that an 8192 texture size is too big for an android mobile build, but in Oculus go, the 8192 equirectangular image size is the minimum required to display correctly, it does display correctly at this resolution in the actual hardware, yet in Unity Editor it displays purple ---- WTAF? even if unity does think the texture size is too big, why display it purple so you cant see it?

    Clearly, in this example, the hardware can display a 8192 texture, so Unity is just plain wrong, why add the purple blank?
