Bug Analyzing a Windows standalone build using Nsight Graphics

    Hey everyone,

    For the last couple of days I've been trying to get Nvidia's Nsight Graphics to work with a Unity standalone build on Windows. Unfortunately, I just can't get the thing to work, the standalone build just crashes when starting it from the Nsight UI.

    Does anybody have any experience with it? Is there some trick / workaround I'm not aware of? Should I file a bug report?
    PIX works wonderfully, I am able to use it to profile my standalone build, but it would be wonderful if Nsight Graphics also worked.

    Update:
    It seems that these issues happen only when the Graphics API is set to Direct3D12. Nsight Graphics works properly when setting the Graphics API to Direct3D11

    It works for us other than this weird error message.

    Check if you have GeForce Experience Overlay or similar overlays enabled. For me it crashes RenderDoc.

    Hey, thank you for confirming that it actually does work on your system. I was beginning to doubt it is possible.
    In the end I decided to completely reinstall the graphics drivers, Nsight and GeForce Experience (just in case) and after that everything magically started to work.
    Moral of the story: always use the most up to date version :mad: and never trust Nvidia to do proper software development.
    By the way: the D3D11on12 error will go away if you the "GPU Trace Profiler" activity.
