Hey guys, I just got my hands on the new 12 core Ryzen 9 3900x CPU and the only thing left to decide on is the GPU.

I'm in between getting the RTX 2070 Super or the 5700 XT ( when the aftermarket models hit in the coming weeks ). They are pretty comparable in performance and power consumption so to me the 5700 XT is a better deal since currently you can get it for about 100-150$ less. I currently have the GTX 1070 and I had an AMD HD 7950 before that so I like hopping between the two companies.

This rig is mainly built to work in the Unity Editor so I don't want any unnecessary issues.
Therefor I ask does anyone currently use the new AMD cards in unity, are there issues, does the GPU profiler section work properly etc.

    Thanks!

I'm curious as well. Seen a good review of the Saphire Pulse 5700 XT cooling solution this morning on YouTube.

I found a thread where someone said that the GPU Lightmapper wasn't working on the RX 5700 XT.
But then again there were a bunch of Nvidia cards that it didn't work on too.

A Unity rep said it should work on the 5700 in that thread.

    Seems situational.

In general it might be interesting to hear also how previous cards hold up in Unity like the RX 590/580/570, Vega 64/54 etc.

I'm using the 5700 XT. Unity editor crashes constantly. then no signal appears on the display. The GPU lightmap and Radeon Pro denoiser work very well but the GPU is not stable.

So your problem with the 5700 XT is only with Unity? "No signal" on the display sounds like a general problem with your card or your computer, and not a Unity compatibility issue. I'd be surprised if you've been playing a bunch of games without issue and only seeing the problem with Unity.

Any updates on this? My 5700 XT isn't working either, when trying to bake it switches over to CPU. (even on very low settings)

I have MacBook Pro - 2018 and eGPU with Radeon RX 5700 XT. Light baking will crash my computer. Only reboot helps :) I tested baking with Unity 2018, 2019 and 2020. Same results. I don't know if the problem is with Unity, eGPU setup, GPU or drivers... Any useful suggestions?

So I was having bad crashes on a GTX 1080 due to buffer overrun and then blinking black screen last night with Unity not open. Was looking at https://www.newegg.com/sapphire-rad...o+cards+-+amd/ati-_-N82E16814202358&gclsrc=ds to replace the card and saw this thread. Can anybody else chime in on editor crashes or not with this card./ I am pairing it to a GigaByte GA-Z170-HD3P motherboard with an Intel i7 4ghz 8 core processor in a PowerComputing case.
