Am I adding animations to a GameObject properly?

    I imported the generic MoCap animation pack into my scene.

    I created a copy of the animation pack in my rigged model folder.

    In that copy, there was an animation for walking. To take advantage of Mecanim, I dragged the thumbnail of my rigged model into the preview pane and saw the MoCap generic avatar replaced with my 3D character.

    I added an animator and animation components to my player GameObject.

    The animation component has the walking animation in it.

    Yet when I play my scene, I cannot see my 3D character at all.

    What am I doing wrong?
