Alternatives to Connect?

Hey all,

Just wondering where freelancers like me migrated when the job forums were closed down. Gamasutra is the place I'm gravitating towards, but I was wondering if there were any better options out there.

 

Upwork, freelancer.com etc.

Finding it increasingly hard to find unity freelance work

 

Reddit has a section for everything. Someone mentioned this one recently.

At least moderators won't be asked to meditate disputes and Unity won't be blamed whenever someone does a dodgy online job, then.

Connect is potentially the best place, it's just designed badly at the moment. As dev is ongoing with it, feel free to tell Unity what you'd like. I think a classic forum-STYLE jobs board with proper controls would be the answer but thats me.

Controls like checking certification of poster if any.
Controls like being able to pm instantly and chat about the job with a PM tool

Other than that a flat job listing for commercial, non commercial etc just like the forum would be absolutely fine.

It seems like the Unity Connect developers totally forgot the forum evolved over a decade to solve the format people posted work for offer / hire in.

 

You could try the TigSource Forums or Polycount.
