    Hello everyone!
We are excited to show you our project that our team has been working on for the past year, an immersive multiplayer first person shooter that has been pushing ourselves and unity to its limits. We are a group of dedicated students that seek to create a rich and fresh shooter experience and implement gameplay and mechanics that we, as gamers, always wanted, but one has yet provided
As of now we are really busy nailing the core fps mechanics which are demonstrated In our latest update video.

Note that this is just an early prototype and most of the assets and animations are going to get revamped.
We have also made considerable progress in additional elements that are not displayed in the video. You can follow our progress on our official YouTube channel and our Facebook page or of course this thread which we will keep updated aswell.

This thread deserves more attention! Your demo looks amazing I have 2 things to say about it:
1.)Your animations should be kept a little bit rigid for performance, to make them feel fast deadly, and to make it seem like they fit interrupting the reload and for falling back when the character dies.
2.)An easy way to make a dynamic skybox is to first draw a video that is seamless on the x-axis on a plane facing horizontally. Then using blender rap it around a dome using tube mapping; $bandicam 2013-06-17 19-49-46-711.jpg
It should look something like this(The picture on it is a drawing I made on a sketchpad in real life); $bandicam 2013-06-17 19-50-10-875.jpg and set up six cameras making a panoramic facing(Up,Down,Left,Right,Front,Back) and record the animation
P.S sorry if you couldn't understand anything I typed.

Why not just import the textured dome and rotate by x degrees every frame?

good idea and you could just darken seen, and add the sun and moon as 3d models in unity add orange an orange light for sunset and grey for moonlight and when it gets dark change it with a starry sky.

Thanks! but we are actually going to remake all the animations to achieve exactly what you suggested! As of now they are just placeholders for the better animations and models to come :D Also thanks for the skybox tip

You should look into Ddo for a lot more detail.

Not that yours textures are bad, I just feel that military equipment should be more dirty, not so clean. Maybe it could be roughed up or scratches could be added.

We regret to inform all of you that one of our team members computers was hacked and our youtube information was compromised.

Whoever hacked us managed to delete all of our videos on the channel.

We've contacted youtube to see if we can get the videos back.

We'll try and reupload some of the latest videos that were deleted.

I am SO confused by this game.
I wan't to think that its just another group of kids making a bog-standard FPS game. It doesn't help that I'm pretty sure DICE will file a lawsuit against you guys if you don't change your trademarks.

That said, I'me VERY impressed by this project. Assets are very well done, gameplay is solid, features are uncompromising and the team seems very professional. Will be watching this closely.

I'm not sure what age you are or think we are (Maybe you are a child yourself? I don't know) But the average age of the members of the team are 18+, working on the game as much as we can in the spare time we have from either work, or full time study.

We are already aware of the logo issues and will be addressing those issues in the future, but rest assured, we are definitely not a group of kids working on the game, and we are most definitely not aiming for a 'bog standard' fps.

I sincerely apologise if that offended anyone, that wasn't the intention. I merely wanted to point out that the vast majority of FPS projects made with this engine are made by children. Theres no real problem with that of course as everyone need to learn somehow but it doesn't change the fact that many users of this forum have become desensitised to posts like: "An FPS like no other, zombies, guns, COD, BF4..." and so on. I'm not accusing you of this as its plain to see that this is a professionally done project.

Again, no offence intended, just voicing my thoughts. Keep up the good work anyway.

Great :) sorry again. Anyway, where is the project due from here? Im pretty new to your "2.0" mentality (after the hack) but I read that Richard Boomsma left the team? Where are you headed because its one of those projects that are simply too good to die.

Hey, I remember that the original Line of Fire was programmed 'live' in youtube as an FPS tutorial and that was even before you had a name for it. That's where I learned Unity from. I'd love to rewatch the videos, but it seems they have been taken down since. Is it possible to access them somewhere? Who was the programmer? I'd like to credit him for the many tips
