It looks nice. The thread may be better under WIP, as what you make is an ongoing process.

Modeling is actually one of the pleasant experiences in 3ds.
Its when you start unwrapping, rigging and texturing that your hair fall out.
Anyway, great job with Bender, can u show us the wireframe? Did you use turbosmooth?

You should crop your images next time. The UI takes up 1/4th of the image. Other than that it's good.

Yes the exam was so easy lol. they asked us to re create this temple from a simple picture ( not blue print , really a simple picture XD )

Im in a intencive school , 18 000$ for 1 year , we learn everything : modelling ( 3ds max / Mudbox) , texturing, animating, lighting , scene design, we are going to make a demoreel and portfolio, and after hover 200 company is going to look at them for recruit.

yes in 4 month we learn what other school teach in 1 year

So what is the schedule of the class? Did they teach just modeling within the first couple days or touch on everything? Do your classmates work look as good as yours?

Sorry to hear you can't afford to keep going. I've learned all of my skills self teaching but a school would always be nice.

I'm glad that you're determined, really, and that you are willing to do what you must to continue school. However, $18,000 is a lot of money. That is what lower wage jobs pay in a year. And for someone to pay you that just so you can continue... I mean, you'd need experience. And from what I'm seen, you can't even texture yet.

Maybe you can set up a Kickstarter account or something similar for maybe 10k and then people may throw some money your way.

I have a small portfolio but i am going to be a real pro, and from that point i will earn alot of money so i will be abble to refound very easy !

    I can refound 25 000$ after 2 years ( you make 7000$ profits )

Or i can work for you for 1 complete year ! ( You make ALOT of profits ) ... this is from now to 1 year

in 4 weeks i will be abble to Do the Textures !!!

You have the determination, that's good.
To earn money, do some good models and post it on showcase so people will be able to see it, and, create a post on paid work.
Also, you can make some models, and sell it on asset store(Example: Medieval pack, Sci-fi, guns, vehicles, aircraft)
And the textures, dont wait 4 weeks: 3DS Max Texturing Tutorial
    Good Luck!

Probably best for you to concentrate on building some savings. Surely they will hold the class again. I know what it's like to be a kid and feeling that everything has to be done *right now*, but it really doesn't. Get a savings account (they usually have special accounts for saving for college - check with your bank), and concentrate on making money to take your class next year. Then, once you have your $18,000 dollars next year, weigh the experience you have given yourself vs. what you might learn, and make the decision then if you still want to go, or you want to spend that 18 grand on something else. You may find that just doing it for a living has given you all the instruction you need.

I wasn thinking about 100 SWORDS. Some examples:
Example 1: A 'Medieval Pack': Swords, buildings, castles, etc.
    Example 2: A 'Weapons Pack': M4, G36, SCAR, Javelin, RPG-7, etc.
Example 3: A 'Sci-Fi Pack': Buildings, Weapons, etc.
    Example 4: A 'Aircraft Pack': AH-6, F22, B-2, etc.

@Jaimi: That's true. I think you should first get the money, and then decide what will you do with it.

Selling 3D models wont produce much money though. It's best to just sell them anyway and get some extra cash. Models on turbosquid, 3dStudio, and the asset store are way under priced.

Lets assume nobody is gonna bail you out. That $18k isn't required. Haul ass over to polycount or a proper forum for 3D where they will critique your work and develop your skills. You don't need college to teach you how to be great at 3D.

You need passion. You've got that. And that's free.

This whole topic brings my piss to a boil.

18k is way to much for a education to start off with, the way you're trying to get the money is even worse in my opinion. You wan't the education so bad so you get the money on your own. You really think people are going to invest into something or some one without any decent proof?
If you really had true passion you would have figured this out on your own.

In the time you have been crying over 18k you could have been going through google search results, looking up links to educate yourself. You really think a education will make you as good as the people that work at these company's? I know plenty of people that are at a design school of some sort and even after 4 years they are bad (yes I said bad, not because I'm being cocky.. Just because they are.. well.. bad lol).

So for the love of god do as some already suggested, sign up at www.polycount.com. Make a topic in the WIP section and post all things there, with wireframes and everything. Ask for criteria and pointers on where to improve. Knowing them they will sure give you those lol. Also go through the wiki they got, that thing is a A+ education on it's own. And I'm sure it go's deeper into topics then any teacher would.

Dont get your hopes too high because a school wont lend you a job in a game industry.Good progress keep it going!

Just what I wanted to say.Basically its better to learn on yourself then to waste huge amounts of money on schools which wont learn you anything you cant at home.

Yeah a lot can be learned teaching yourself. Thats how I learned. Although I wouldn't say its a replacement for college. I'm not arguing the price though.

Having other students and a teacher right next to you can help get out of problems instantly. Instead of posting a thread on the forums and waiting for someone to voluntarily reply. It could take hours, days, or even weeks to resolve your problem.

There's a plus to that, you're more likely to remember it from the first time you learn it. I found out that when you got a teacher or something the habit of asking it over and over again gets taken real easy.

Still though, waiting days or weeks for an answer is not very fun. I would rather have a little tendency to forget than waiting that long. Or maybe take notes so I don't forget.

Well, go study at my school and you will see, you will learn what other school teach in 3 year ... in only 1 year ... this is this !
They are professionall from the industry who show you how to do it and then how to not do it to dont have error and by the way they teach you how to fix the error

So if a day you have the error you will know how to fix them

Hesa, learn online yourself. Its alot better. I learned game design online, now have 5 years experience. Ive made two 2d apps, 1 webplayer mmo, and working on 3 mmos. All should be done in 2 years. Learning yourself is better and free. I can model, code, and animate amazingly. I learned everything through forums and youtube. And unlike others, im against game designing schools. Its much easier to learn from other people like you. Good luck! ;)

That is what everybody thinks at the beginning most of the guys that I talked and that went to game art schools said that it was total waste of money and that the only good thing they got from there is few friends.
