    Hello community.

I'm new in the game development world and I would like some advice from you.
I'm from south America and I don't know about TAXes in US.

If hypothetically I could sell 100.000 $US in Apple Store or Google Store (assuming that I have an LLC US company), how many TAX (VAT) I must pay?

Store's fee it's about 30%. Do I pay the TAX (or VAT) of the 100% or the remaining 70%?

I'll be so thankful with your help.

    Thanks in advance.

i'm guessing this is about selling stuff in the UAS

in US we don't have VAT

we do have Federal and State taxes

and some places also have City taxes

and perhaps all sort of other taxes

but if your in SA then I do not think that applies to you

you need to contact UAS and direct that question to them about what taxes if any would apply to you and your particular case

No, not the UAS; they have nothing to do with taxes. Talk to a tax accountant, that is, a real live one in person, where you live. Any tax advice online is suspect, since while it may be true for the author, it probably doesn't apply to you.

    Thanks both for your answers.
Talking about taxes and the changes in 01/2015 in EU Google will take action.

"Starting 1 January 2015, due to a change in Value-Added Tax (VAT) laws in the European Union (EU), Google will be responsible for determining, charging and remitting VAT for Google Play Store app and content purchases for EU customers. Google will send VAT for EU customers' app purchases to the appropriate authority.

Once the change is in place, you won’t need to calculate and send VAT separately for EU customers. No action is required on your part. Even if you’re not located in the EU, this change in VAT laws will still apply."

Yes Eric, as always, has the best answer. ++Eric

So I guess you will need to talk to a Tax Accountant...

My answer was limited to to taxes, if any, that the UAS may withhold and/or charge. Personally they never charge me any taxes that I know of when I buy something. Other places like newegg.com does...

Taxes are quite complex for example when I go to grocery store and buy something what if any taxes i pay is dependent on the things that i buy. Some things i pay no taxes on, others things different amounts depending on what they are some things normal sales taxes, other things come loaded with all sort of taxes and that breakdown is sort of different from place to place. Its quite complex and detailed and I guess that is why a Tax Accountant is for...

Yes, you need to ask someone qualified to answer this, aka a Tax Accountant. Additionally, the tax law you abide by depends on where you live/where your company is based, if you know nothing about how it works, talk to someone who does, not the internet.

I'm also going to close this before we get into a "I have no idea what I'm talking about regarding grownup stuff but will advise you anyway" thing.
