It is possible to make your money back on your ad spend, but your game has to be right, and you have to use ads the right way. The blogs of ad networks and hypercasual publishers are often good places to find out about such things, but there is a lot of other sources of information on mobile ads.

How far from profit are you? What is your CPI? LTV? D1? D7? D30? It is hard to help when we don't know your situation. If you don't know what those terms mean, you probably haven't done enough research to make your ads work. It is still difficult if you have researched a lot, but it helps.

    Thanks for your answer.
The profit is below the half money invested.
    D1 is around 11% and D7 si around 2%.

Those retention figures are low. The issue is probably the players not staying in the game long enough for you to earn the money back that you spent on getting them.

Adjust & Unity have released a useful report on hypercasual games. https://www.adjust.com/resources/ebooks/hyper-casual-gaming-report-2020/ It includes some figures on other areas if you game is not hypercasual, but there is lots of useful information in there. One important figure related to your figures, for hypercasual they list D1 31.7%, D7 8.7% (higher for mid-core). Get nearer that and you could be in profit.
