We've made a few tests with the addressables package, and so far it works very well and solves a lot of problems. Only the documentation is very minimal and some features are a bit hard to understand.

As a preview package we don't want to use it in a production environment to avoid risks. What are the plans for the near future of the package? Can we expect a stable non-preview version of it soon? Maybe @unity_bill knows more?

Our rough timeline right now is to be discoverable (meaning it shows up in packman UI) this year, and verified (aka non-preview) in the 19.1 or 19.2 time frame (intending to maintain compatibility all the way back to 18.2)

Have these goals slipped a lot in the meantime ?

We did hit the "discoverable by EOY" goal. For being non-preview, a couple things have shifted. For one, it'll definitely not be 19.1, but we are still shooting for 19.2. I can't say yet if that will for sure happen or not.
Second, we are most likely going to up our minimum version from 18.2 to 18.3. Not because of an incompatibility, but because we've discovered an in-engine bug related to how light probes are dealt with during asset bundle build. Under Unity's new model, the fix for that engine bug will only go back to 18.3. So while the package would work against 18.2, light probes won't build correctly.
Though all of this is still getting worked out, that's our rough idea.
