Hello, apologies if its already been asked.

Since ads are limited to 25 per player per day, how do they identify the player? What if I login into a different account but with the same device, will that limit my ads or does count start at 0 for each player?

Do they separately count the limits per ad placement, or overall video type limits to 25 and then another 25 for the banners?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

If you have followed the conversation around privacy improvements in iOS 14, you might have heard about the term IDFA (ID for Advertisers - see https://developer.apple.com/documentation/adsupport/asidentifiermanager), which can be used by advertisers to know if a device has watched an ad, similar to how cookies are used for websites. Similar exists for Android. There will naturally be changes to above related to the iOS 14 changes, when they are implemented in 2021.

That was the quick introduction into online advertising :)

For your question around limits, probably see this more being a guideline these days. In general we see lower interest from advertisers to pay for ads shown to users (or technically devices) which has shown a lot of ads in same session. Remember that the advertisers are interested in spreading awareness about their product to users, and if you are just one ad being shown after 20 others in the same session, there is a smaller chance of the user remembering your product.

If you haven't seen it already, check https://unityads.unity3d.com/help/resources/best-practices with some ideas for how to integrate ads into your game, with a focus on integrating it well, rather than just showing a lot of ads (which has a risk of annoying your users)

    Thanks,
    Rasmus
